Great science fiction has inspired many of us to look to the stars and imagine what is beyond. 

For many of us, our interest in science fiction started in our youth through the great science fiction novels of the day. We read Asimov, Bradbury, Heinlein, and Herbert. A trip to the library could really be a trip the stars. That was a great time indeed. 

Then came Star Trek. It proved that science fiction could work on TV. Star Wars was next and the big screen was never the same. 

Now, science fiction is in multiple media including TV, Movies, and popular culture. There are some new authors like Cixin Liu, Martha Wells, Andy Weir, Orson Scott Card, Terry Pratchett, Blake Crouch, and Hugh Howley. The new authors incorporate our new understanding of the universe, or should I say multiverse.
